Giving Tuesday in Waco, Texas

The Advocacy Center of Waco gives hope and restoration to those who are hurting because of an act of violence committed against them. They seek to facilitate change through advocacy, collaboration, and community awareness.

The Waco Foundation has a mission to promote solutions to community challenges, strengthen local nonprofits, engage philanthropists and manage charitable assets in order to improve quality of life in McLennan County.

Waco Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminate substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating, and preserving homes. Habitat for Humanity also advocates for fair and just housing policies and provides resources to families to help them improve their living conditions.

Meals on Wheels nourishes the bodies, minds, and spirits of older adults in Waco. They deliver meals for over 850 homebound elderly, provide lunches for 12 senior centers, and operate a transit program in McLennan County.

The Humane Society of Central Texas provides adoption, foster, and rescue opportunities for homeless animals at the Waco Animal Shelter. They are the only regional, open-admission shelter in the area!

Mission Waco’s mission is to empower the poor, equip and mobilize the middle class, and engage the systematic issues of social injustice. They strive to eliminate poverty in the Waco community and around the world through hands-on compassion and a holistic approach.

The Junior League of Waco is an organization of women who promote voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. The women of the Junior League work together to identify unmet needs, forge effective coalitions, and work for change.

The Methodist Children’s Home equips children, youth, and families to flourish by offering hope through Christ-centered relationships, services and support. They serve children and youth through residential programs on the Waco campus and Boys Ranch, and through foster care, transition services and a variety of services in communities through Texas and New Mexico.

The Imagination Library of Waco was started in 2020 and has a mission to ensure that all children in Waco grow up surrounded by books. Imagination Library of Waco is the local affiliate of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and serves 6 zip codes in the heart of Waco with plans for expansion!

Charity Champions are nonprofit organizations chosen by TFNB Your Bank For Life employees after being nominated by the community. Recipients get an awareness marketing campaign and leadership training at no charge to the nonprofit.

Care Net strives to provide compassionate care, accurate information, and practical support to men and women facing unplanned pregnancies. Care Net offers free confidential pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, optional counseling, and more!

Talitha Koum Institute is a mental health therapeutic nurture center, focusing on the brain development of at-risk children from infancy to five years old.

The Waco Cultural Arts Fest believes in supporting the arts and art education. Their goal is to bring the arts to all sections of Waco and to offer art programming to students of all ages.

Fuzzy Friends Rescue believes that animals, as living creatures, are entitled to a quality life, respect, and compassion. Their mission is to provide shelter, food, medical treatment and love to our community’s animals that are abandoned, unwanted, or otherwise in need.

The Cove is a Waco-based nonprofit designed to provide a safe space for youth experiencing homelessness to access the resources they need to thrive.

The Isaiah 117 House provides a space that allows children to receive the comfort and care that they need while child welfare staff can help find a good placement for them. Their mission is to reduce trauma for children awaiting placement, lighten the load for child welfare services, and ease the transition for foster families.
