This year’s Pruit Memorial Symposium brings together scholars and practitioners from across academic disciplines to explore the life, music, and legacy of Andraé Crouch and, more broadly, the cultural, social, and spiritual roles Black Sacred Music plays in the life of communities within and beyond North America.
Along with panel discussions, presentations, and performances, the symposium will also feature a Community Gospel Sing at Second Baptist Missionary Church (2001 Dallas Street, Waco) on Thursday night and a tribute concert in Jones Concert Hall on the Baylor campus featuring singers and musicians who performed with Andraé Crouch on Friday night.
Registration is only required for the Opening and Closing Keynote sessions
. There is no cost or tickets needed to attend symposium sessions, the Community Gospel Sing, or the Andraé Crouch Tribute Concert.
